Winterizing the Campus Center

Contractors are currently onsite at the Campus Center to install a heat trace system along the roof line. This heat trace system is intended to prevent the formation of icicles along the roof edge during the winter months.

Beginning on Wednesday, September 16, work will begin on the portions of the roof which hang over the eastern side of the building facing Cavanaugh. During this over head work, the 4th Floor Terrace, two building entrances, and the sidewalk along University Boulevard will be closed for brief periods of time as a safety measure. All work should be completed by the end of the week.

The work will begin at the corner of the building near Michigan Street and University Boulevard and move south along the building toward the corner at University Blvd. and Vermont Street. The work has been scheduled for the late afternoons. Appropriate signage and barricades will be put up by the contractor to indicate what areas should not be used. Any closure of the 4th Floor terrace or any building entry should only be for a brief time of less than one hour. The sidewalk along University Boulevard will likely be closed until all work is finished. During the sidewalk closure individuals will be able to use the sidewalk on the other side University Blvd. closest to Cavanaugh or walk through the Campus Center.

We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation during this work project to improve the facility.
